Premier League has seen three strikers go all out to win this season’s golden boot award. Harry Kane leads the line with 21 goals while Jamie Vardy and Romelu Lukaku are behind him with 19 and 18 strikes respectively.
Among the three forwards, Lukaku is the most likely one to quit his current club Everton and join a bigger team next season. There have been suggestions in the media about Lukaku outgrowing his club as they cannot fulfill his ambitions any longer.
Lukaku will be Belgium’s number one striker at the Euros which would leave him craving for Champions League football next season. Everton are way behind in the table to even think of European football, thus keeping Lukaku at the Goodison Park may not be possible for Roberto Martinez.
On that note, we take a look at five possible destinations for the in-demand Romelu Lukaku, who is expected to create quite a stir in the transfer market next season.
Lukaku would be ideal for Man United at the moment given their lack of goals up front. Wayne Rooney is gradually becoming a number 10 while Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford yet to establish themselves as proper centre-forwards.
Lukaku has ample Premier League experience and is adapt at playing either long-ball strategy or being the finisher in a silky passing move. He has the skill, United have the money thus it looks like an ideal signing for both player and the club.
Antonio Conte might correct what Jose Mourinho failed to do in his second stint at the club. Many believe Lukaku was never given a fair crack at Stamford Bridge and perhaps the “Baby Drogba” is now ready to come back and do what he was always meant to do.
Diego Costa’s future is unclear while Radamel Falcao, Loic Remy and Alexandre Pato are tipped to depart from Stamford Bridge, which will make all the room for Lukaku to come in and be the lead striker for his former club.
Despite the great scoring run, Karim Benzema is not regarded as a true GALACTICO and that is why there is a general feeling around Santiago Bernabeu that Benzema will be sold next summer.
As expected, Lukaku will be on the shopping list for the Los Blancos as they would want to have a potent goal scorer in their attempt to topple Barcelona off their perch.
French Champions are preparing themselves for a summer of striker exodus with Zlatan Ibrahimovich and Edinson Cavani tipped to depart from Parc des Princes. Like all the top European sides, PSG will be lurking around Lukaku to bring him in Ligue 1 football.
Romelu Lukaku’s father Roger spoke with HLN Sports where he confirmed that his son’s agent is working hard to seal a summer move to Juventus. Italian side like to play with 2 strikers up front, however, Alvaro Morata is all set to quit Turin next summer.
With Paolo Dybala in their set up, Max Allegri needs another deadly striker in his squad and with Lukaku tipped to quit Everton next summer, The Belgian will be the ideal choice for Italian Champions.
