Chelsea will learn the outcome of their pursuit to sign Alvaro Morata later this week after reports of a showdown talk between Morata and Real Madrid emerged earlier today.
Despite being brought back to Bernabeu, Morata isn’t too sure of a starting XI role under Zinedine Zidane and feels that he could be used to finance Real Madrid’s move for Paul Pogba.
Meanwhile, Conte is eager to bring Morata at Stamford Bridge and link him up with Diego Costa. According to Evening Standard, Conte has been in constant touch with Morata in recent weeks and is desperate to sign him this summer.
Although Real Madrid have knocked back Chelsea’s £50m bid earlier this summer but Blues are ready to go back with a stunning £67m offer which would tempt Madrid to re-consider their decision.
Chelsea are also willing to comply with Morata’s £115,000-per-week salary demands to lure him away from Real Madrid. The Spanish international striker is seeking assurances over playing time and that is where Chelsea feel they have the edge over their La Liga counter part.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are also prepared to reject any approach from Atletico Madrid for a prospective deal to re-sign Diego Costa.
Conte is keen to forge a strike partnership of Costa and Morata and is eager to complete Morata’s deal by end of this week and begin to get a proper look in to his squad ahead of a gripping 2016/17 season.
