Alvaro Morata is keen to join a new team soon after completing a €30m move to Real Madrid earlier this summer. The Spanish striker is certain to be pushed down the pecking order once he starts to compete against Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo for a starting role next season.
According to El Confidential, the club Morata is fancying is Arsenal. The report claims that Morata has been very vocal amongst his inner circle with the attacker and has reportedly said: “I do not want to die of disgust on the bench.”
The biggest reason for Morata’s decision to join Arsenal is to have a chance of working under Arsene Wenger. Morata admires the work Wenger has done at The Emirates and is eager to play under him.
Morata was also linked with a move to Chelsea and Manchester United but they have opted to sign different players. Antonio Conte got Michy Batshuayi while Jose Mourinho opted to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile Arsenal are still looking for a decent attacker who can score consistently. Morata, 23 scored 9 goals in 22 appearances for Juventus last season but it was Euro 2016 where he truly came off age and established himself as a proper centre-forward scoring three times.
Chances of Morata joining Arsenal – 1.5/5
Arsenal and big money signings are often not mentioned in the same sentence. Real Madrid value Morata at £58million and I do not see Arsenal breaking the bank that much to sign Morata this summer or any summer.
The best bet for Morata this summer is either to stay with Real Madrid and fight against BBC or he should seek a move to Chelsea because Antonio Conte and his team are the only side who really need Morata and can even afford him.
