Manchester United have entered the race with Chelsea and Manchester City to sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho is hopeful of beating Chelsea to Bakayoko’s signing, who has also impressed new Blues manager Antonio Conte.
Both Chelsea and United are in need of signing a long-term central midfielder to enable cover for their attack-minded players.
United had planned to move for him this summer but interest from Chelsea and Manchester City could force the Red Devils’ hand.
Bakayoko signed for Monaco three years ago in a £5.3m deal from Rennes and are believed to rate the midfielder at around £22m.

Manchester United are believed to spend over £200million to give Jose Mourinho the best possible squad to fight for Premier League title this season.
However, Mourinho is keen to spend close to £70-80million in January to bring a central defender and midfield player to make a late push for title this season.
Victor Lindelof is reportedly closing on a £38million deal to United and Tiemoue Bakayoko could be the next big money signing for The Red Devils.
