Pedro Rodriguez has given Chelsea supporters an early weekend gift after the forward looks set to stay at the club next season after confirming he’s loving life at Stamford Bridge.
The Spaniard struggled to adapt to the Premier League in his first season in English football after joining from Barcelona and looked set for a return to his native Spain.
He revealed last summer that he was keen to go back to his former club after a disappointing first year but now insists he has no regrets that a potential move fell through.
And he’s now loving life under Antonio Conte as Chelsea sit firmly on top of the Premier League.
In a recent interview, Pedro discussed his time at Chelsea and said: ‘This is the best moment for me at this club and also the best moment for the whole team since I’ve been here.
‘I’m very happy here. It’s a good situation when you are top of the League and progressing in the FA Cup. We are on the right path.
‘Last year was a difficult one for me, for the club, for the team, but this year is different.
‘With this coach, all the team is focused on the fight for the title, with more confidence for every game and this is good. It’s a completely different season.’
Face of Football’s take
Given how the Spaniard has played this season, it does not come as a surprise to see Pedro ready to commit to a long-term Chelsea future.
Pedro has managed 6 goals and 5 assists in 16 starts this season and has formed a strong partnership with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa upfront.
