Italian champions Juventus are on the verge of signing goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal, according to reports.
Sky Sports Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio revealed this on his personal website, where he claimed that the shot-stopper will fly to Italy next week with a viewing to finalizing his transfer to the club.
This is coming after the Polish international was excluded from Arsenal’s tour of Australia and China.
And Marzio also wrote that Szczesny will team up with Juventus on their US tour should the deal be completed next week.
He was the undisputed first choice keeper at Arsenal before the incident where he was caught smoking in the dressing room showers after a 2-0 loss to Southampton made him lose his starting berth in between the sticks at the club.
He found himself down the pecking order behind Petr Cech and David Ospina, which resulted in his two-year loan move to Roma before returning to the FA Cup holders this summer.
The 27-year-old joined Arsenal in 2008 and went to make 181 appearances for them, keeping 72 clean sheets in the process.
With Szczesny entering the last 12 months of his contract, Wenger will prefer to cash in on him than to lose for free next year.
