Celtic vs Motherwell: Another game between both sides in within the week

It is another moment for Celtic and Motherwell to reignite their rivalry as they face off this weekend once again. Both managers know each other very well and it will be a good game to watch. It is the third meeting in the week for both sides.

Celtic will be missing Patrick Roberts in action on Saturday due to the recurrence of his hamstring problem. The 20-year-old have been having this injury crisis and he complained about it during the 1-1 draw at Fir Park on Wednesday night, days after he was part of the Celts win over Motherwell 2-0 in the Betfred Cup final.

This will come as the third game for the club in the week after scenes of controversies over penalty decisions, accusations of diving, missile-throwing from fans and complaints over tackles. The penalty awarded to Celtic two minutes away from time denied Motherwell their hope of having one win over Celtic after the Betford cup loss.

The penalty was deemed dubious by the ‘Wells fans but Scott Sinclair never had any of that as he slotted home from the spot to help preserve their unbeaten run and take it to 66 games.

Motherwell manager, Stephen Robinson dwelled on the positives of the match than the negatives.

“It’s a tough week, three games in six days against the champions, unbeaten in 66 games,” Robinson said as quoted by Eveningexpress. “It’s tough for a wee club like Motherwell. I read in the paper the other day the gap between us and Celtic is double the financial disparity of Celtic and PSG.

However, the issues that escalated after the penalty had made the Hoops captain also admit about the objects thrown at players during the fiesty encounter at Fir Park. He however felt his team could have gotten the maximum points in the game if they had converted their earlier chances.

So heading into this third encounter, both sides will go for the jugular. Moussa Dembele and Nir Bitton are doubts for Celtic with right back Anthony Ralston still ruled out due to a knee injury he’s recovering from. The good news for Motherwell is that they have their full squad to call on for this game.
