Free agent emerges on Celtic’s register as deal confirmed agreed

It is no secret that Celtic is frail on the defensive front and before the summer transfer window closes, it seem possible that Brendan Rodgers Will try to sign a new centre-back.
According to report by BBC Sport, the Hoops have already made an offer worth £3.5million for Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna, only to have their offer turned down by the Dons and German newspaper BILD is claiming that the Scottish giants are lining up a swoop for Wolfsburg’s Jeffrey Bruma.
It is understood that Celtic are willing to offer an irresistible £7million fee for Bruma, as the Bundesliga club prepare to sell out the former Chelsea defender, but what if Rodgers could potentially avoid dishing out that £7million and instead sign a free agent who could be just as good?
He has roaming free since the end of the previous season but Serdar Tasci looks like the right choice for Rodgers and he is available for free.
Taco, 31, said his goodbyes at Spartan Moscow in early July and could be a very good way for Rodgers to help the club keep her purse in check.
While most Celtic fans would rather see the club reinforce the squad with a big budget, it would make a lot more sense to look out for major coups like this and Tasci could potentially be the best centre-back on register at Celtic Park if the Bhoys secures his signature.
The former Stuttgart and Bayern Munich defender has been capped 15 times for Germany in his career and has featured in countless Champions League and top-flight games that would make him more experienced than all of Celtic’s current defensive options put together.
The Bhoys may have to move quick to sign Tasci though as according to Turkish publication Fanatik, he has been offered to Galatasaray and has previously been linked to Bestikas and Trabzonspor.

With top clubs in Turkey eyeing up a move for the ex-Spartak Moscow centre-back, it just goes to show that he is a player with quality and it is mad to think that he remains a free agent at this late stage of the summer transfer window.
