Celtic fans are pleading with the club to make a move for Ashley Young.
Fans of the Scottish Premier League champions are urging the top-flight club to take the Manchester United star off market.
Young, currently at Old Trafford, used to ply his trade at Villa Park for Aston Villa.
The former Watford winger made an impression on fans of the Celtic Park giants during A Match for Cancer.
Young was turning out for Stiliyan Petrov’s XI.
The United star challenged fellow ex-Villa player James Milner’s team in the charity clash.
Young rounded Joe Hart to score the fourth goal of the friendly.
But despite impressing, the 33-year-old has fallen down the pecking order in Jose Mourinho’s team at Old Trafford with Luke Shaw now preferred over him.
Now Celtic fans want Brendan Rodgers to sign him.
“Ashley Young in a Celtic top does things to me,” one wrote on Twitter.
Another said: “Any chance we can convince Ashley Young he’s been sold to Celtic & get him a flat in the town until January?”
Another wrote: “Seeing Ashley Young in a Celtic kit. Would love to see that permanently.”
Another fan said: “I’d take Ashley young at Celtic.”
While a fifth supporter added: “Ashley Young looks a natural in a Celtic shirt. Wouldn’t mind signing him to be fair.”
Young’s contract at The Theatre of Dreams will run out by the end of the season, and could seek to leave on a free transfer.
